Spain - IL3-UB

Responsible for Project Management in the CARERS project, the Institute for LifeLong Learning (IL3-UB) is a Foundation that the University of Barcelona - Spain’s leading university in scientific achievements - has created to promote lifelong learning. Innovation, prestige and experience are the pillars IL3-UB, which combines the 560 year-plus tradition of the Universitat de Barcelona with the dynamism of the free market, modern society and technological progress. It offers excellence in training in both open and corporate programmes, using different learning modalities: face-to-face, e-learning and blended learning.

Currently, IL3-UB has more than 25,000 students and more than 600 training programmes in Masters, Postgraduate programs and courses of specialisation and extension. These programmes cover 11 different fields: Business; Health; Pharmacy; Nutrition and Feeding; Communication, Culture and Society; Technology and Experimental Sciences; Environment and Prevention; Teaching and Education Sciences; Hospitality and Tourism; Sports; Public Administration and Social Economy.  IL3-UB is supported not only by the academic prestige and the teaching experience of lecturers, teachers, researchers and experts from the different UB departments, but also by the contributions of prominent experts from the care sector to lead this EC-sponsored CARERS project.
