Main Target Groups
The main target groups of CARERS are informal carers. Generally speaking, we mean persons who, without an institutional role, provide help and support to a partner, child, relative, friend or neighbour who could not manage without their help. In a more specific sense, this project also consider informal carers as being non-trained people employed in the nursing field, people with foreign qualifications or people trained to assist adult people with disabilities but who have no experience with aging or related care issues and are now are faced with having to take care of elderly people with life long disabilities.
Secondary targets are professionals working in the field of nursing, social work and/or psychology that will be trained as tutors for the courses. They will deliver the training to the informal carers in order to allow mutually-beneficial learning and a better transfer of effects.
